May 1, or May Day, marks a commemorative event in Labor History, when workers striked and eventually got an 8 hour workday, unheard of at the time. This event at the Botto House will be remembered with numerous performers commemorating May Day. Annamaria will sing Italian arias heard by the immigrants workers during the turbulent period in the 19th and 20th century when labor workers were fighting for the right to an 8 hour workday and humane working conditions.

Annamaria is joined by tenor Rory Angelicola and a special chamber ensemble from Nutley High School in an afternoon of Italian arias, duets, neopolitan and Italian favorites. The ensemble is conducted by Andrew Macirowski. Join us after the performance where you can enjoy complimentary refreshments and meet the artists.
