NEWS RELEASE
Flemington,
NJ – OPERA FOR AUTISM - The Organization for
Autism Research (OAR) and The Autism
Autoimmunity Project (TAAP) are proud to announce that a special fund-raising
dinner with entertainment will be offered on Friday, November 21, 2003 at
Mangia Bene Ristorante in Flemington, NJ.
A portion of the proceeds of this dinner will go directly to OAR and
TAAP to support their efforts in leading the way to funding research studies.
The
concert will be presented by tri-state opera singers Annamaria Stefanelli,
Lyric Soprano, and Roy Angelicola, Tenor, who have been delighting audiences
throughout the Metropolitan area with their classical concerts. Catherine Scott will be accompanying them.
The concert promises to be an entertaining hour and a half of music dispersed
throughout a five-course buffet. Music
will include arias and duets from opera, operetta and musical theatre.
The
event will take place at one of Hunterton County’s top Italian restaurants,
Mangia Bene, on Friday November 21, 2003 at 7:30 pm. Advance ticket reservations are requested by November 7,
2003. The price per ticket is $40.00
and includes a fabulous 5-course meal.
A cash bar is also available for those patrons who would like to
purchase alcohol during the dinner.
There will only be 100 tickets sold for this event.
According
to Anthony Ferrera, board member of OAR and organizer of the event, “This
concert is a great opportunity to support a worthy cause while enjoying an
evening of music and fine food in a community atmosphere. We are very excited to bring people
together for this cause as well as families with children on the Autism
Spectrum. Autism is a growing concern
today among parents. It’s important to
increase our awareness on the impact autism is having on our society and
continue research to help parents today.”
According to some estimates, autism may effect as many as 1 in 150
children born today.
To order tickets, please call Mangia Bene Ristorante
at 908-806-7522. Tickets are $40.00 per
person and must be pre-paid to reserve a table. Tables are available for six, eight and ten people.
